Position Summary

We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Distribution Centre Manager to oversee the operations of our distribution centre in Wahgunyah. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the centre, ensuring efficient and timely distribution of our products to customers. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

 

A day in the life

 

  • Manage and supervise a team of warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse operations, including inventory management, order processing, and shipping/receiving
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and procurement, to ensure smooth coordination of activities and timely delivery of products
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of warehouse equipment and facilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other external stakeholders
  • Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse performance to senior management

 

What will make you successful:

 

  • Proven experience as a Distribution Centre Manager or similar role, preferably in the FMCG sector
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including inventory management, order processing, and shipping/receiving
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in using warehouse management systems and other relevant software
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
