A Day in the Life

Are you ready to lead the creation and management of a centralized finance master data function for Diabetes? The Diabetes business is becoming an independent, publicly traded company, with a clear focus on innovation, operational excellence, and growth in diabetes care. As the Finance Master Data Lead, you will ensure the accuracy, quality, and governance of financial master data, which is critical for automation, efficient finance processes, and support the successful implementation of SAP S/4HANA (an enterprise resource planning system) at Day 2 (Transition Service Agreement (TSA)) exit with Medtronic). This is an exciting opportunity to shape master data strategy and governance for a growing international organization.

This role is based in Heerlen, Netherlands, with flexibility for hybrid or remote work. You will collaborate with IT, finance, and cross-functional teams, and report to senior leadership. Occasional travel may be required to support business needs and ensure alignment across regions.


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Create and manage a centralized finance master data function to support the Diabetes finance processes
  • Build organizational design and plan for the master data value stream
  • Establish master data governance frameworks, including RACI models, and enforce business rules for data accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to push for operating excellence using automation (AI)
  • Design and optimize master data processes for Day 2 system (SAP S/4HANA) readiness and scalability
  • Lead efforts to cleanse and standardize financial master data for SAP S/4HANA migration for TSA exit at Day 2

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Data Management, or related field
  • Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in financial master data management or related roles within a multinational organization
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing master data processes and governance frameworks
  • Expertise in data cleansing, quality management, and preparation for SAP S/4HANA migration
  • Strong understanding of master data management principles and tools for finance-related objects
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills

Experience managing culturally diverse teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives is a plus. Familiarity with advanced data quality tools and KPI frameworks will help you excel in this role, but are not required.
