Job Title: Director, Global Employment Tax.

Role Overview:

Manage and oversee global payroll tax operations, compliance, and funding processes. This role is critical in ensuring accurate payroll tax reporting, timely funding, and adherence to regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions including the US, UK, Canada, and other global locations.

On a typical day you will: 

Payroll Tax Operations & Compliance

  • Manage day-to-day US and global payroll tax operations and compliance.
  • Respond to tax inquiries, assessments, and notices from federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Conduct internal payroll tax audits and system corrections globally.
  • Oversee payroll tax and equity tax funding approvals and daily funding processes.
  • Implement new state and local taxes and maintain compliance with evolving payroll tax laws.
  • Handle certified payroll inquiries and executive tax compliance, including New York State.

Audit & Consulting

  • Support and manage US Payroll, Global SOX, UK HMRC, and Canada payroll tax audits.
  • Provide tax consulting for benefits, equity, and global payroll matters.
  • Assist with IRS and state penalties, interest resolution, and transcript reviews.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and consultants (e.g., KPMG) for VDA and compliance audits.

Accounting & Funding

  • Direct Processing payroll-related accounting entries including drop feeds, escheatments, GL mapping, and amendments.
  • Manage severance, HCRA/DCRA, and 3PSP funding processes.
  • Reconcile and post adjustment transactions and support post-balancing activities.
  • Process and track agency refund checks and employee repayment checks.

Systems & Reporting

  • Maintain and audit payroll entries in EV5 and PQAA systems.
  •  Create and disseminate payroll tax communications and knowledge articles.
  • Administer SharePoint and MyADP platforms.
  • Generate and review daily, weekly, and quarterly reports including dailies, SNOW case assignments, and compliance checks.

Employee & Stakeholder Support

  • Address colleague and HR tax inquiries and escalations via SNOW.
  •  Direct governance and Processing of employee tax documents globally, ex: W-4s, W-2Cs, SSN amendments, and IRS lock letters.
  • Support internal teams including Sales & Use Tax and Corporate Tax with tax-related data and filings.
  • Maintain tax agency credentials and relationships across jurisdictions.

What You Will Need to be Successful: 

  • MBA in Finance or  CPA preferred.
  • 14+ years of experience in payroll tax operations, preferably in a global environment.
  • Strong knowledge of global federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations; international tax experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, EV5, Globalview, Celergo) and case management tools (e.g., Servicenow).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SOX compliance and audit processes.
  • Familiarity with equity and benefits tax consulting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with SharePoint administration.
  • Knowledge of tax funding processes and reconciliation.
