Job Description

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • You will support the business by ensuring our suppliers are committed to achieving Nissan purchase objectives in the areas of Vendor Tooling cost competitiveness.
  • You will work with the Parts Purchase and Design teams to ensure selected suppliers achieve optimum value for the business.
  • You will actively manage sourcing activities relating to Nissan models via management of RFQs, Tooling quotation expert level tool analysis and negotiation.
  • You will ensure you maintain a strong industrial awareness by investigating latest tooling manufacturing methods, ensuring optimum costs are attained.
  • You will use your Expert HPDC and Assembly tool knowledge to assess requests for tool refurbishments/replacement ensuring supply is secure.
  • You will maintain key systems for Tooling cost tracking and Tooling purchase orders and ensure the stringent quality standards required by Nissan are met.

Background and Experience

  • Postgraduate experience in a Die casting and general assembly Tooling environment (preferably Automotive or similar high volume industry).
  • Shop floor experience in HPDC and equipment tool manufacturing and/or maintenance (HPDC Injection, Assembly equipment, Automation and mechatronics, other type tooling experience an advantage)
  • Good understanding of various tool and Equipment design. (Assembly techniques, time studies, automation technology and general tooling principles)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a confident presentation style.
  • Strong numerical skills and the ability to use them for negotiation and analysis.
  • You will work effectively in a team and have a flexible attitude, an ability to achieve tight deadlines and deliver under pressure.
  • Proven cost reduction experience using a number of techniques (benchmarking/negotiation/COCA, etc...).
  • Demonstrable track record of achievement of cost reduction targets.
  • An openness towards national and international travel.
  • MS Office computer skills. (Excel, Powerpoint, Word).
