Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) – Acute Care / Medical-Surgical (Part-Time, Day Shift)
Location: Anacortes, WA
Schedule: Part-Time, 24 hours per week | Day Shift
Salary Range: $18.65 – $27.70 per hour
Differentials:
Nights – +$2.25/hr
Evenings – +$1.65/hr
Weekends – +$1.50/hr

Join our Acute Care/Medical-Surgical team and help create a supportive, organized environment where nurses can focus on what they do best—caring for patients.
What You’ll Do
Serve as the unit’s receptionist, greeting visitors and responding to calls in a courteous, professional manner
Facilitate communication among nurses, physicians, and departments to ensure timely care coordination
Support admissions, transfers, and discharges by assembling charts and managing patient documentation
Enter physician orders for lab work, imaging, and respiratory therapy in Meditech or designated EHR system
Schedule outpatient and inpatient tests, consults, and procedures as requested
Maintain supply inventory, order materials, and ensure work areas are stocked and organized
Collect and report departmental statistics and assist with routine clerical projects
Uphold confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism in all patient interactions and documentation
What You’ll Bring
High School Diploma or GED required
Prior experience in a hospital or medical office setting preferred
Proficiency with computers, data entry, and multi-line phone systems
Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a fast-paced clinical team
Demonstrated commitment to customer service and patient care excellence
