JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Assist the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, event execution, staff supervision, ordering and inventory, and menu development 

• Proven experience planning and executing large plated and buffet banquets 

• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and adjacent areas is maintained to standard at all times 

• Creative menu planning to adjust to guest needs  

• Overseeing food preparation and proper planning for execution of events and a la carte service 

• Checking quality and accuracy of food deliveries  

• Ordering all food and cleaning supplies and maintaining proper supply levels  

• Maintaining costs within budgeted levels  

• Manage labor costs, schedules and productivity  

• Hiring, coaching and performance management of direct reports with and in absence of Executive Chef 

• Interacting positively and professionally with guests to resolve issues  

• Acting as Manager on Duty as required  

• Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectives  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

• Formal culinary degree/certification preferred 

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a hotel culinary leadership role  

• Valid Food Safety, Sanitation, and Food Manager certifications required 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

• Strong Organizational skills 

• Proven leadership ability 

• Strong Culinary experience in both a la carte and banquet  

• Ability to exceed expectations of guests  

• Reliability and Flexibility with schedule  

• Excellent role model for all team members
