Position Summary

Under the direction of the Art Manager, the Graphics Pre-Press Technician processes customer files, pre-flights jobs, and prepares them for imaging directly to plate, ensuring the highest quality and accuracy in all printed products.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and pre-flight customer files following departmental procedures.
   
• Verify trapping, overprinting, color corrections, image resolution, and file setup.
   
• Convert files to CMYK and make necessary corrections to meet customer specs.
   
• Output and check proofs for accuracy prior to plate imaging.
   
• Confirm customer sign-offs before production.
   
• Archive completed jobs for future use.
   
• Communicate effectively with Sales, Customer Service, and Production teams to resolve issues.
   
• Participate in cross-functional teams to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
   
• Maintain technical competency with evolving graphics and printing technologies.
   
• Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
   

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Arts or related field, or equivalent experience.
   
• 2–5 years of pre-press or printing industry experience preferred.
   
• Strong knowledge of Mac OS and design/pre-press software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.).
   
• Understanding of printing tolerances, color theory, and CMYK processes.
   
• Excellent grammar, spelling, and attention to detail.
   
• Ability to read and use a ruler, interpret specs, and perform basic math (fractions, decimals).
   
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
   
• Ability to work in a self-managed team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Primarily seated work with computer use and fine detail work.
   
• Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 5 lbs).
   
• Close and color vision required.
   
• Moderate noise levels in production areas—PPE required when applicable.
