Job Description:

The DePaul College Prep Theology Department seeks a collaborative, energetic, and positive educator for the role of theology teacher. The ideal candidate is a qualified teacher with the following characteristics:

• Has a passion for imparting social justice-focused theological education and understands its importance for high school students in the modern world;
• Collaborates with course team members to create a positive and rigorous learning environment for all students;
• Builds and facilitates pedagogically relevant content that fosters deep conversations and critical thinking skills within theological coursework;
• Offers consistent and constructive feedback to student work that creates a growth mindset for each student;
• Strong skills in classroom management, engagement, and daily routines, which will enhance student learning and educational stability; 
• Motivated to continue learning and reading outside of prep for the classroom to model lifelong learning;
• Willing to adjust and be flexible with changes that will happen throughout the academic year;
• Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student in their class;
• Support the mission and ministry of the school by active participation in student retreats, school liturgies, prayer services, and community service; 
• Ability to integrate culturally responsive practices into daily teaching. 

Qualifications:

BA degree in Theology

MA degree is preferred
