Job Summary: Manages the route scheduling software and server (Edulog). Includes installing software, troubleshooting and overseeing all input/output of data. Performs a wide variety of mapping and routing functions for the utilization by school bus drivers, administrators, schools, and parents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES generally include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Implements, installs, monitors, maintain, and update data to be used in the computer-assisted transportation scheduling system (Edulog). Installs software and upgrades to the server and user workstations.
Coordinates, creates, and edits attendance, walk, and busing boundaries for each school in the district. Determines student eligibility for transportation based on boundaries, district policy, regulations and procedures.
Liaison between operating system and Edulog support. Liaison between district departments and schools in training for the utilization of Edulog Web Query and Web Reports via the internet. Provides continual support for routing staff with evaluating, problem solving, and troubleshooting data errors.
Investigates and creates solutions for special routing requests and unique projects. Including the preparation of bus transportation, or van transportation for all McKinney Vento students.
Conducts field surveys for the reason of establishing bus stops, runs, and routes with safe and state mandated regulations.
As required, researches, reviews legislation, technical manuals, and journals for changing concepts, new and/or revised legislation impacting routing, scheduling and/or other requirements. Maintains current certification requirements for Commercial Driver License and School Bus Driver.
Direct supervisor for routing staff and McKinney Vento van drivers.
Accountable for preparing and maintaining data for AZ State 100th Day report and Vehicle Inventory report. Reports all totals electronically to the State Department of Education. Answers all questions and inquiries by auditors regarding these reports.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county, and city statutes, rules, policies, and procedures
Knowledge of applicable Peoria Unified School District and departmental policies and procedures.
Knowledge of the principles of general preventative maintenance, operation and handling of school buses, wheelchair lifts, safety restraints, vans and other modes of PUSD transportation vehicles.
Knowledge of the principles of route bid preparation, announcement and acceptance practices.
Knowledge of the principles of management, supervision, and training methods.
Skill in reading, interpreting, understanding and applying relevant Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances and codes and PUSD policies and procedures.
Skill in plotting, updating, and maintaining route maps, routing, mapping, assigning, scheduling and updating bus schedules and routes.
Skill in providing leadership and work assignments for assigned staff.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, vendors, students, parents, the general public and others having business with the school district.
Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or GED AND 3 years of experience with transportation routing and mapping software and/or management and supervision, including 3 years of school bus driver experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have be achieved.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background clearance check.
May be exposed to dangerous machinery, extreme weather conditions, hazardous chemicals and fumes, and infectious diseases.
May re required to lift, carry and/or heavy, bulky supplies, materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
May be required to lift and/or transfer special needs students weighing up to 50 pounds.
May be required to work outside normal working hours
May be required to travel to perform work functions
Must possess at time of application and must maintain a valid Arizona CDL, Class B driver license with passenger and school bus endorsement.
Must obtain within three (3) months of employment and must maintain current CPR and First Aid Certifications.
