The Senior Corporate Financial Reporting Manager is a hybrid role and critical member of the Corporate Accounting team, primarily responsible for the integrity of the company's consolidated financial results. This role requires technical accounting expertise and strong analytical skills to manage complex consolidation accounting, strong understanding of tiered legal structure, preparing annual audited financial statements, and maintaining the financial operations of the corporate entities. The ideal candidate is highly deadline-driven, possesses strong Excel skills, and excellent communication abilities. 

The pay range for this position is $135-155k based upon factors including but not limited to related experience and time in the industry.

Essential Functions

  • Preparation of quarterly consolidations for the parent company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Prepare and review all complex consolidation entries for a multiple tiered structure, including intercompany eliminations and equity method of accounting.
  • Takes full ownership of the annual audited financial statements, including the preparation of the financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules.
  • Manage the relationship with external auditors, serving as the primary contact for all audit requests related to consolidation and corporate financials. 
  • Operational duties include but not limited to:
    o Manage monthly close process for assigned entities.
    o Review monthly bank reconciliations and prepare as needed.
    o Review corporate wires, account transfers, and prepare as needed.
    o Reviews reconciled bank and intercompany accounts and monitors cash balances for cash management purposes.
    o Manages the AP workflow process through review of invoices for proper coding.
    o Reviews intercompany billing cash receipts postings for assigned entities.
  • Ensures timely lender reporting requirements where a corporate entity is a guarantor.
  • Assist in reviews of annual tax returns and liaisons with tax accountants as needed.
  • Assists in other areas of corporate accounting and special projects as required.
  • Management of Corporate Finance Accountant.

 

Work Experience Requirements

  • Extensive Knowledge of general accounting principles and processes.
  • Strong knowledge of multiple tiered structure for owned properties.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Yardi software.
  • Knowledge of real estate development and fee-based structures preferred.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, excellent work ethic, and ability to take ownership.
  • SEC Reporting experience is a plus.

 

Education Requirements and/or Years of Experience

  • Undergraduate (Bachelor) Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
  • 6-10 Years Experience in accounting experience required.
  • Public accounting and/or real estate accounting strongly preferred.
