Pay: $28.18 - $32.69 per hour
Kendal at Hanover is a non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community and home to 400 residents. We are seeking a Sous Chef to prepare meals and achieve food service objectives by implementing menus and controlling food preparation and sanitation in all areas of food service.
Shift details: Sunday through Thursday. Sunday 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM; Monday - Thursday 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM. End time varies slightly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure department is ready to serve food as scheduled.
- Coordinate and prepare for dinner meal service by following the production sheet and preparing all hot foods as necessary for the Cafe, Cadbury dining room, and Health Care dining areas.
- Continually batch cooking to maintain a high quality product while minimizing leftovers.
- Prepare for special meals and catering functions.
- Maintain department sanitation.
- Assist with kitchen scheduling needs by covering any vacant shifts on an as needed basis
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 5 years of cooking experience including 2 years of supervisory experience required.
- Must be capable of obtaining ServSafe sanitation certification.
- Must be familiar with production sheets, recipe books, and professional cook books.
