Overview:

The Financial Analyst is a key role in our growing finance department, granting the right individual the opportunity to play a central role within the FP&A group of The Marzetti Company. This individual will be given an opportunity to build skills and gain experience across multiple functions including Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement and LogisticsThe right candidate will have superior excel modeling and reporting skills combined with an eagerness and enthusiasm towards learning the business and developing new skills. The ideal candidate will be action oriented, results driven but also have the “soft” skills to collaborate effectively across all functional pillars with multiple teams.  

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in a high energy and fast-paced team environment to provide financial analysis and understand the implications of data and impact on business insights in critical decision-making processes 
  • Communicate financial results and related variances to functional leaders through monthly reporting including: 
  • BU Profit and Loss Statements 
  • Sales Reporting 
  • Board of Directors Metrics Package 
  • Various reports to support the Integrated Business Planning pillars 
  • Execute month-end close responsibilities, working alongside accounting to prepare monthly journal entries as needed 
  • Support the creation and execution of the annual operating plan, ensuring alignment of business needs and financial goals 
  • Other duties as requested by management 

 

Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required 
    • 1-3 years finance or accounting experience 
    • Ability to work in a team setting, drive team results and support change management within the organization 
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills required 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills 
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a sense of urgency while meeting required time constraints 
    • Trustworthy and able to maintain full confidentiality 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel ability
