Gillette Children’s is looking for a CT Technologist at our main campus in St. Paul, MN. The Technologist responsibility is primarily CT exams, Fluoro procedures, and some general x-ray. As a specialty healthcare facility, with ongoing care for both pediatrics and adults, technologists provide quality, age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team.

This is a 0.8 FTE, benefit eligible position to support the needs of the main campus hospital and clinics. General staffing hours are 9:30 am to 6:00 pm Tuesday through Friday, with rotational call hours 6:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekends and holidays. 

Compensation & Benefits

The hourly wage for this opportunity is $37.97/hour to $54.49/hour. In addition, this position is eligible for shift differential pay, which includes $1.50/hour for weekends and $1.00/hour for evenings. Pay is dependent on several factors including number of hours worked within the field, education, and certification/licensure. Hourly pay just one part of the compensation package for employees. Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards
  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements
  • Performs high quality patient care
  • Operates imaging equipment accurately and reports all problems to leadership and/or vendor services immediately
  • Monitors and maintains established protocols with Radiologists
  • Trains and advises new employees and students to routine protocols and processes
  • Practices proper safety precautions (ALARA) in the radiology environment and informs patients, staff and visitors according to established guidelines
  • Reviews, organizes, and distributes patient paperwork and images to the Radiologist and appropriate provider.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. If candidate holds valid CPR for through another acceptable organization (as determined by Gillette), candidate may be able to begin employment but must complete Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association within one month of employment.
  •  Certified, registered and in good standing with the ARRT in Radiography and CT OR must complete CT certification within 18 months of employment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  •  Demonstrated skill in the area of leadership and interpersonal communications as it relates to patients families, co-workers, medical staff, and others.
  •  Demonstrated active involvement in professional organizations, quality and safety improvement, or research.
  •  Excellent customer service skills.

Preferred

  • CT experience or certification
  • Experience working with pediatrics
