About the Department

Performs skilled clerical and responsible administrative work assisting in the operation of municipal tennis center; does related work as required. Work is performed under general supervision.

Position Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and organization of events at Tennis Center.
  • Prepares promotional material; creates flyers, invitations, brochures and press releases.
  • Assist with tournaments.
  • Obtains price quotations; prepares purchase requisitions, receivers, refunds, reimbursements.
  • Participates in budget preparation and monitoring; monitors budget line items, keeps revenue and expenditure records.
  • Prepares and completes daily and monthly participation report.
  • Prepares payroll and maintains payroll related records and files.
  • Schedules meetings updates RS/Events calendar.
  • Composes/types minutes, correspondence, memoranda and reports.
  • Develops and maintains filing system, including personnel files.
  • Prepares work orders and follow up activities.
  • Media liaison; contracts, updates special events, tournaments, etc.
RELATED TASKS:
  • Assist in the Pro Shop as needed.
  • Assist in the coordination of volunteers.
  • Prepares personnel requisitions, biweekly payroll, status forms and performs associated clerical/administrative work.
  • Performs related tasks as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of:
  • The operation of a tennis facility and regulations.
  • The principles and practices of tennis planning and programs.
  • Standard office procedures.
  • Simple cash accounting principles.
Skilled in:
  •  Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to:
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with City officials, associates and the general public.
  • Organize and perform work independently.
  • Act as liaison for the tennis center; ability to type accurately at a rate of 45 WPM.

Other Qualifications

  • Any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to graduation from High School; and at least three (3) years of clerical experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Possession of valid State of Florida Class "E" driver's license with no more than six (6) points in a three (3) year period.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule on occasion. 
  • Essential employee during declared storm emergency.

  • Monday - Friday 8:00am- 5:30pm
