Rheumatology Clinical Pharmacist

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday�Friday, 8:00 AM � 4:30 PM
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Clinical Pharmacist to join our Rheumatology team. This full-time, in-office role is ideal for a pharmacist passionate about collaborative care, clinical research, and patient education. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing complex medication regimens, supporting clinical operations, and enhancing patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispensary Management: Oversee and support operations of the in-office dispensary, ensuring compliance, inventory control, and efficient medication distribution.
- Clinical Collaboration: Work closely with rheumatologists to manage complex medication regimens, including biologics and DMARDs.
- Medication Reconciliation: Conduct thorough reviews of patient medications to identify and resolve discrepancies, monitor for drug interactions, and assess for adverse effects.
- Lab Monitoring & Protocols: Assist with lab result interpretation, medication refill protocols, and prior authorization processes, including handling denials.
- Patient Education: Provide comprehensive counseling on medication use, potential side effects, and adherence strategies.
- Vaccine Administration: Administer vaccines as needed in accordance with clinical guidelines.
- Research Support: Participate in and support clinical research initiatives within the rheumatology department.
- Additional Duties: Perform other pharmacy-related tasks as assigned to support the team and improve patient care.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active pharmacist license in the state of Alaska (or eligibility to obtain).
- Experience in rheumatology, immunology, or specialty pharmacy preferred.
- Strong knowledge of biologics, DMARDs, and chronic disease management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
