Valid Pupil Activity Coaching Permit issued by the Ohio Department of Education (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Completion of required Coaches ToolChest, including:
Clear BCI/FBI background check
Demonstrated knowledge of bowling rules, techniques, and safety procedures.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with head coach, athletic department staff, and student-athletes.
Commitment to promoting sportsmanship, academic achievement, and positive team culture.
Prior coaching or competitive bowling experience preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices, drills, and match preparation for both JV and Varsity teams.
Provide instruction and feedback to student-athletes to improve skills, strategy, and understanding of the game.
Supervise athletes during practices, competitions, and team travel to ensure safety and discipline.
Support the head coach with lineup decisions, scoring, and statistical record keeping.
Help coordinate team equipment, uniforms, and facility needs.
Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and athletic department personnel.
Model and reinforce positive sportsmanship and team values consistent with Oberlin City Schools’ athletic philosophy.
Attend all required meetings, matches, and team events as assigned by the head coach or Athletic Director.
Assist with program promotion, recruitment, and retention of student-athletes.
