Position Summary

The Warehouse Material Handler plays a vital role in the efficient, safe, and accurate handling of materials within a warehouse and the manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, moving, and tracking materials to support production and ensure smooth warehouse operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving & Inspection
  • Unload incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders
  • Inspect materials for quality and accuracy
  • Label and document received goods correctly
  • Storage & Inventory Management
  • Store materials in designated locations for easy access and retrieval
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate inventory records
  • Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory checks regularly
  • Order Fulfillment
  • Accurately pick and stage materials to meet production demands
  • Replenish Production Kanban areas on a routine basis. (minimum twice daily)
  • Material Handling
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and related equipment safely
  • Transport materials between storage, production, and shipping areas
  • Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform basic maintenance and safety checks on material handling equipment
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns
  • Safety & Workplace Organization
  • Follow all company Safety protocols
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards
  • Report accidents, spills, or unsafe conditions immediately
  • Documentation & Record-Keeping
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all material movements
  • Use scanning devices or software to update inventory systems

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse or material handling experience preferred; entry-level applicants welcome
  • Equipment Proficiency: Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other handling equipment; certification a plus
  • Physical Ability: Capable of lifting up to 50-lbs and standing/walking for extended periods
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in handling and documenting materials
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational habits and knowledge of GMP housekeeping standards
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to work well in a team
  • Math Skills: Basic arithmetic skills for inventory counts and tracking
  • Computer Skills: Familiarity with inventory systems and basic computer applications
