Overview: The Manager, HR Operations, supports senior HR leadership in the design and implementation of all comprehensive Total Rewards initiatives as well as oversees the daily management of MCU’s compensation and benefits programs to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. This position is instrumental in ensuring that employees are rewarded competitively, supported, motivated, and engaged, contributing to the organization’s overall success.
Responsibilities:
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead the development, execution, and support of compensation programs (incentive and bonus plans, benchmarking activities, salary survey management, annual merit process, etc.)
- Support the development and execution of the company’s benefits strategy; partner with broker to develop programs that are cost effective and support organizational goals.
- Oversee the planning, development, and administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, retirement, wellness, and other fringe benefits.
- Communicate compensation and benefits policies and programs to employees, ensuring clear understanding and addressing inquiries.
- Manage annual variable compensation plan development, merit increase process, annual and ongoing salary monitoring.
- Coordinate and manage retirement plans, ensuring compliance related to required communications, employee participation and testing.
- Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommend changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and objectives.
- Utilize data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Own and manage the employee health and welfare, retirement, and leave of absence benefit programs in compliance with carrier contracts for the purpose of providing maximum coverage to active and retired employees within contract specifications.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations.
- Research and recommend vendors for compensation & benefit processes. Manage vendor relationships; review vendor results to ensure efficiency, consistency with MCU’s goal, policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with HR to integrate compensation and benefits with performance management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with HR to design and implement programs that enhance employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
- Maintain all HR Operations-related processes and procedures to ensure accurate and current documentation.
- Responsible for regular and predicable attendance including punctuality.
- Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years management of the Total Rewards function with comprehensive knowledge of compensation & benefit programs.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding compensation practices
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or PHR, SPHR preferred or achieved within six months of hire.
- In-depth knowledge of compensation principles, benefits administration, and HR best practices.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar certification a plus.
- Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Technologically proficient.
