Target Salary: $90,000 to $100,000

Dryer Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to: Hiring, training and managing all plant employees. Ordering and managing inventories for bin and tray repair, maintenance supplies while maintaining a dryer budget. Supporting Dryer Safety committee as a inspector, Supporting South America Maintenance as need it, Maintaining full compliance with all. County, State and Government workplace regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES

              The following duties are normal for this position.  These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.  Other related duties may be required and assigned.

  1. Direct and coordinate dryer operations within company policies and procedures, schedule maintenance of all necessary equipment and maintain effective and lawful permits relating to dryer activities.
  2. Aid in analyzing, documenting, and developing operational procedures to enhance the dryers’ overall operating quality and efficiency.
  3. Promote a clean and safe work environment while fully supporting SSG activities including South America operations as needed.
  4. Conduct interviews, hire new staff, provide employee orientations and perform bi-annual employee reviews for long-term staff.
  5. Responsible for overseeing all employee related items including but not limited to: work assignments, shift schedules, back-up for absent staff, training, breaks, overtime, motivating staff while keeping workplace and employee moral as a high priority and layoffs.
  6. Stay current on field polices and take advantage of grower relations when you have the opportunity to visit with those growers who deliver their fruit to you for drying.
  7. Ensure all State, Government, CAL OSHA, and Dryer Certifications requirements are in compliance.
  8. Establish, maintain and promote a positive image of the company to the community through communications, community involvement activities support and participation.
  9. Continuing personal development through self-evaluations and training sessions.
  10. Learning new IT programs and their application within the dryer or field system.
  11. Understanding/ability to learn agricultural applications such as pruning, irrigating, shaking, etc and their benefits to the growers and the growers company.
  12. Working closely to maintain sampling and grading policy and procedures are being followed for fruit you are sampling and grading for both Tule River & the Madera dryer.
  13. Working closely with the team in Yuba City to ensure paperwork is in order.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge/Skills: 

  • Requires skills to properly use and train employees on safe forklift operation, bin/tray repair procedures, fruit handling/drying and all other company policies and procedure. Specific attention to Safety Program and Food Safety compliance programs.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Ability to: 

  • Requires the ability to interview and hire new associate employees working with your temp staffing agencies.
  • Experience establishing and operating within budgets and ability to use multiple computer programs on a daily basis.

Education and Experience: 

  • Minimum of a high school diploma with at least two years of college education or previous work experience with an emphasis on agriculture or business related fields desired.
  • Requires knowledge of agribusiness, dryer facility processes and orchard experience growing and development experience. Supervisory skills overseeing a workforce up to 80 people.

Physical/Safety Requirements: 

  • Tolerate extended periods of sitting at desk.
  • Ambient noise is louder than a traditional office setting.
