Analyst / Associate Strategic Investments (Mainz, RP, DE, 55116) at BioNTech

The Analyst / Associate Strategic Investments is a key member of BioNTech's global finance team. You will play an essential role in a high profile and business critical function that directly impacts BioNTech's mission. You will gain first-hand strategic and operational experience helping to build a leading global biotechnology company. You will work closely with BioNTech's leadership team to define and execute the company's strategic priorities.

Your responsibilities in detail:

• Financial modelling, valuations and long-term financial planning
• Identify new growth opportunities, evaluate build/buy/partner opportunities and other special projects required to further develop our pipeline programmes
• Support in the negotiation and execution of strategic transactions (e.g. M&A, collaborations, licensing and equity investments)
• Contribute to the development of BioNTech's partnership and acquisition strategy and work closely with other team members to implement a comprehensive business development agenda
• Drive multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively with other functions (e.g. Business Development, Legal, Business Alliances, R&D, Commercial, Manufacturing) to develop each business case
• Develop business cases for various partnership / investment opportunities, including business-specific financial analysis (considering strategic, financial, legal and tax implications)
• Assist in prioritising the portfolio and aligning / planning resources accordingly
• Act as a strategic thinking partner to senior management and the Board in the development, refinement, formulation and execution of BioNTech's business and scientific strategy

What you have to offer:

• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree from a leading academic institution
• At least 2 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, biopharma and/or comparable experience 
• Strong quantitative background and analytical skills, coupled with meticulous attention to detail
• Genuine interest in the biotech industry and understanding of its unique challenges and opportunities
• Team player with a strong motivation to contribute to a positive team culture
• Strategic thinker with a strong understanding of analytical tools and a track record of developing meaningful insights 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a demanding environment and handle time-sensitive projects in multiple phases
