The Analyst / Associate Strategic Investments is a key member of BioNTech's global finance team. You will play an essential role in a high profile and business critical function that directly impacts BioNTech's mission. You will gain first-hand strategic and operational experience helping to build a leading global biotechnology company. You will work closely with BioNTech's leadership team to define and execute the company's strategic priorities.
Your responsibilities in detail:
- Financial modelling, valuations and long-term financial planning
- Identify new growth opportunities, evaluate build/buy/partner opportunities and other special projects required to further develop our pipeline programmes
- Support in the negotiation and execution of strategic transactions (e.g. M&A, collaborations, licensing and equity investments)
- Contribute to the development of BioNTech's partnership and acquisition strategy and work closely with other team members to implement a comprehensive business development agenda
- Drive multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively with other functions (e.g. Business Development, Legal, Business Alliances, R&D, Commercial, Manufacturing) to develop each business case
- Develop business cases for various partnership / investment opportunities, including business-specific financial analysis (considering strategic, financial, legal and tax implications)
- Assist in prioritising the portfolio and aligning / planning resources accordingly
- Act as a strategic thinking partner to senior management and the Board in the development, refinement, formulation and execution of BioNTech's business and scientific strategy
What you have to offer:
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree from a leading academic institution
- At least 2 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, biopharma and/or comparable experience
- Strong quantitative background and analytical skills, coupled with meticulous attention to detail
- Genuine interest in the biotech industry and understanding of its unique challenges and opportunities
- Team player with a strong motivation to contribute to a positive team culture
- Strategic thinker with a strong understanding of analytical tools and a track record of developing meaningful insights
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a demanding environment and handle time-sensitive projects in multiple phases
