The Fiber Lead is responsible for daily oversight of fiber installation, service, and maintenance activities. This role ensures that all work—whether completed by internal crews or external contractors—meets Pramira’s Installation & Maintenance Agreement obligations, service level agreements (SLAs), and industry best practices. The Fiber Field Supervisor ensures quality, enforces safety and compliance requirements, manages documentation, and upholds contractual restoration and reporting standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate the work of internal fiber technicians and subcontractor field crews.
- Ensure all fiber installation, splicing, restoration, and maintenance work complies with service level requirements(response times, restoration times, first-day success rates, trenching depths, and on-time appointment standards) .
- Perform or oversee OTDR testing, fiber characterization, speed testing, and troubleshooting; ensure all required testing is documented and uploaded per SLA.
- Manage ticket workflow from the NOC (service orders, installations, maintenance, 811 locates) including acknowledgement, updates, and closure within required timeframes.
- Maintain accurate documentation including as-builts, splicing schematics, installation records, speed test results, inventory usage, and customer-facing checklists.
- Enforce compliance with branding and customer-facing requirements (badges, uniforms, documentation left with end users, site restoration standards).
- Conduct quality control inspections, ensuring trenching, reinstatement, and site restoration meet minimum depth, environmental, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, NOC, and operations teams to resolve field challenges and ensure SLA adherence.
- Coordinate and communicate with the Owner’s representatives, subcontractors, and utilities regarding site access, city/utility projects, and potential service impacts.
- Support emergency maintenance by mobilizing within required response times (e.g., 1–24 hours depending on severity) .
- Provide technical training and ensure all field staff complete required certifications (e.g., Owner’s Blue Badge Training, background checks).
- Oversee inventory reporting, ONT handling, and monthly reconciliations; ensure missing equipment is avoided and reporting deadlines are met.
- Manage subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with Pramira’s agreement obligations, including labor, wage, procurement, and safety standards.
- Enforce company safety policies, OSHA standards, and erosion/pollution control measures; participate in safety audits and site inspections.
- Assist with customer escalations, ensuring professional communication and timely resolution.

- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Technical degree in Telecommunications or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in fiber installation, splicing, and testing.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OTDR testing, fusion splicing, fiber troubleshooting, and TIA/EIA standards.
- Familiarity with Installation & Maintenance Agreement obligations, including SLA compliance, restoration timelines, ticket management, and customer documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, fiber schematics, and splicing documentation.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong documentation and reporting discipline; experience with FSM/Jira or similar ticketing tools preferred.
Pay range: $25-$32/hr. DOE
