As an Industrial Electrician at RHI Magnesita, you will play a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems to ensure the continuous operation of our facilities. This position is part of the Hammond Maintenance team working on the 3rd shift, supporting the company's manufacturing and production operations through expert electrical maintenance and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in compliance with current electrical codes, company policies, and safety regulations.
• Diagnose electrical issues, perform testing, and implement timely corrective actions to minimize downtime and promote operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to support scheduled and emergency repairs as well as preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure all electrical work meets quality standards and is documented accurately, facilitating compliance and audit requirements.
• Utilize a variety of testing devices and hand/power tools in a safe and effective manner.
• Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing workplace safety and operational reliability.
• Adhere consistently to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a secure work environment.
• Maintain inventory of electrical parts and tools, making recommendations for procurement as necessary.
• Support training and mentoring of junior electricians and apprentices, contributing to team development and expertise.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience as an electrician in an industrial or manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and codes (e.g., National Electrical Code).
• Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams accurately.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment, including motors, switchgear, transformers, and control systems.
• Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automation systems is an advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Good physical condition and ability to work in varying environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Relevant electrical certifications, licenses, or apprenticeships as applicable by state regulations.
