Maintenance Mechanic- Night Shift $2000 Sign On Bonus at Darigold

Darigold is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic at our Caldwell plant. The Maintenance Mechanic must possess the desire and ability to maintain all plant equipment. As a member of the Idaho team, the Maintenance Mechanic will support the Manufacturing Division. The Maintenance Mechanic’s role is to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on all plant equipment.

• C Shift Maintenance Technician > Sun-Tue with alternating Wednesdays 5:00pm-5:00am
• D Shift Maintenance Technician > Thurs-Sat with alternating Wednesdays 5:00pm-5:00am

What You Will Do

• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pumps, valves, pneumatic tools, gearboxes, conveyor systems, and manufacturing/packaging equipment.
• Perform tasks by following diagrams, schematics, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Support uptime by helping production operators follow routine preventive maintenance practices and compliance.
• Use available tools and resources to fabricate or modify parts as needed.
• Problem-solve and creatively adapt solutions without full machine shop capabilities.
• Perform general electrical troubleshooting of 24V, 110V, 220V, and 480V systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Understand and apply principles of mechanical systems, process flow, and controls.
• Flex across shifts to support operational coverage as needed.

What You Bring

• Highly proficient and experienced in troubleshooting PLCs, electrical controls, and instrumentation
• Strong knowledge in mechanical machinery, including steam, boiler, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals
• Willingness and flexibility to work any shift, any day, based on business needs
• Boiler and refrigeration experience preferred
• Self-motivated and able to follow directions and work independently
• Able to troubleshoot and inspect product and equipment with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Processes
• Instrumentation experience is preferred but not required; a willingness to learn and support calibration and troubleshooting tasks is highly appreciated.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical/electrical maintenance, or instrumentation certificate
• Food background preferred, especially dairy
• Experience in a variety of manufacturing areas (production, logistics), within consumer products
