Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Tele) Travel Position

Pay: $2,053.80/week (plus $2,450 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,350 after three contracts)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Fort Wayne, IN. The Tele RN will provide exceptional care to patients requiring continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring. This role involves administering medications, interpreting telemetry rhythms, and collaborating with the care team to ensure optimal outcomes for patients with cardiac and medical conditions.

This is an auto-offer position for qualified candidates. Block scheduling is available. Floating to other units may be required. Local candidates are not accepted (must live at least 50 miles from the facility).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for patients requiring cardiac telemetry monitoring and medical-surgical support.
• Accurately interpret telemetry strips, recognize rhythm changes, and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Administer prescribed medications, perform assessments, and document findings in Cerner EMR.
• Conduct bedside shift reports and maintain clear, timely communication with physicians and interdisciplinary staff.
• Manage a patient ratio of approximately 1:5 to 1:6, ensuring safe, high-quality care delivery.
• Collaborate with the cardiac care team to develop individualized care plans and implement evidence-based interventions.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and cardiac health management.
• Maintain compliance with hospital safety standards, infection control policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Float as needed to support other units within the hospital based on staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Indiana or a compact state (required).
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Telemetry experience (hospital setting required).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Cerner EMR experience preferred.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test.
• Strong proficiency in telemetry interpretation, patient assessment, and medication administration.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted).
