North Orange County ROP is seeking a Systems Specialist to perform various complex technical duties in deploying, testing, implementing, and maintaining the North Orange County ROP administrative and instructional support systems. The Systems Specialist may assist in making recommendations to improve systems and procedures to meet future technology requirements; provide procedural solutions to support specific functionality requirements. Additionally, the Systems Specialist assists in implementing, maintaining, and supporting complex network LAN, WAN, and VOIP phone systems, including security systems (video cameras, alarms, and emergency broadcast systems), servers, and applications (hosted and on-premise). The Systems Specials supports other members of the Technology Department as required.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:
A valid California Class C or Class 3 Driver’s License, the ability to maintain insurability status, and access to personal and reliable transportation are required.

Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & TRAINING:
Associate of Arts degree and three years of recent strong technology experience (systems/network administration, programming, etc.) or higher. Applicants may substitute a combination of post-secondary education, experience, and desirable certification in place of education.
Experience in a K-12 school environment is preferred.
Highly Desirable:
• Certifications in a related field are highly desirable, with some examples below;
• CompTIA A+, Security+, Network +, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Cisco CCNA or CCNP

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, bodily fluids, and the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When working outdoors, the employee is exposed to normal seasonal weather variation.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Environment:
This position classification performs duties in a climate-controlled office setting and may occasionally work outdoors;
Employees in this classification work inside with exposure to minor contagious illnesses (colds, flu, etc.) in direct contact with the public and other ROP staff, with direct and indirect guidance from a supervisor, and with moderate to a high volume of work and tight deadlines, continuous changing priorities, and interruptions. Other atmospheric conditions include fumes and odors (copier supplies, electrical wiring); dust (Dust and paper dust). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The mental requirements for this position include the ability to do the following regularly for short or long periods: analyze and solve problems; address critical issues with sensitivity and confidentiality; collaborate and interact successfully with various individuals or groups of people encountered in the course of work; make observations; perform highly detailed work; read and interpret information; use oral and written communication skills; work under intensive deadlines and meet productivity requirements.
