SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range for this role is $150,000 to $188,000 / year. This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.
SUMMARY
As the Senior Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and providing strategic financial guidance to support the division's growth and profitability. You will be responsible for contributing to the leadership of the finance department by guiding the team in processes, procedures, analyzing financial data and driving financial performance and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
- Supervise certain Huntsville finance and accounting team members, to include being available for inquiries, mid-year and year-end evaluation discussions and supporting in individual career development of those individuals
- Assist in overseeing the financial operations of the finance and accounting team, including reporting and analysis
- Assist in managing the month-end closing process, monitoring adherence to deadlines and proper procedures
- Prepare the schedules necessary for the weekly cash flow forecast
- Managing individual accounting projects, to include parent integration tasks
- Collaborate with the finance and accounting team to implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Contribute to analysis of financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to support business performance evaluation, cost control, and revenue optimization.
- Support the audit process by coordinating with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of audit requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance financial reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices, and ensure their implementation and adherence within the division.

QUALIFICATIONS
The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. MBA or CPA designation is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of the government contracting industry.
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and financial management.
- Excellent understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Proficiency in financial software systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with Costpoint and/or Jamis is highly desirable.
- Experience in cost accounting, project accounting, and government contract accounting is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Knowledge of accounting standards and regulations relevant to aerospace manufacturing, such as ASC 606 and ASC 842.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a finance team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking ability.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
