The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of Bergen Logistics’ financial reporting. This role supports the company’s continued growth by overseeing key accounting functions, maintaining compliance with GAAP, and delivering meaningful financial insights to management.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant works collaboratively across departments—particularly Operations, Billing, and Finance—to ensure that accounting processes align with Bergen’s business goals and operational excellence.
- Responsible for daily reconciliation of multiple bank accounts across 4 subsidiaries.
- Process intercompany journal entries and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting package
- Assist with month end closing and accruals, prepaid amortization, balance sheet reconciliation.
- Prepare and maintain schedules and supporting documentation needed for management reporting and auditing.
- Responsible for daily reconciliation of multiple bank accounts across 4 subsidiaries.
- Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and adherence to GAAP and internal policies.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to provide financial insight and decision support.
- Review and ensure accuracy of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and expense reporting.
- Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Support annual audits, tax filings, and compliance with all financial regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Billing, Procurement) to ensure accuracy of cost allocations and inventory accounting.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Participate in ERP and accounting system enhancements or implementations.
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff to ensure consistent quality and compliance.
- Partner with leadership to support company-wide initiatives and financial planning goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- 3+ years experience within the general ledger and bank reconciliation.
- Proficient in Excel with VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or equivalent).
- Proven attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and communicate complex financial information clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team.

Salary range is $70,000-$85,000 annually
