Job Description:As Capture Manager you will lead strategic business pursuits within the UK TacCIS domain, directly influencing our growth strategy. This role is responsible for developing and executing capture plans, managing customer relationships, and driving proposal development from early opportunity shaping through to contract award. The Capture Manager will work cross-functionally to ensure win strategies are embedded across all bid phases and will serve as the primary point of contact for customer engagement throughout the capture lifecycle.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing Capture Plans, win strategies, and Price to Win analysis.
- Leading customer requirement shaping, solution development, and teaming strategies.
- Managing customer intimacy and stakeholder engagement throughout the bid lifecycle.
- Chairing key gate reviews (Pursuit Decision, Bid Decision, Bid Confirmation).
- Collaborating with Bid Managers, Proposal Managers, and functional leads to ensure bid readiness.
- Supporting post-submittal activities including clarifications, lessons learned, and negotiation.
- Ensuring smooth transition to Programme Management upon contract award

Qualifications:To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proven leadership in capture and business development within the defence sector.
- Strong understanding of UK MOD procurement processes including RFIs, ITTs, and PQQs.
- Ability to develop and implement win strategies, competitive analysis, and business cases.
- Skilled in stakeholder management, customer engagement, and influencing decision-makers.
- Experience chairing gate reviews and leading cross-functional bid teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including briefing senior stakeholders.
- Familiarity with estimating, WBS development, and proposal lifecycle management.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Comfortable with travel (10–15%) and representing GDMS UK at trade shows and industry events
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
- Significant proven experience in project management, engineering, or business development, preferably within the defence industry.
- Experience leading capture efforts and proposal development (RFIs/RFPs).
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing capture plans and influencing customer requirements.
- Experience working within structured bid processes.
Salary for this position is £62,000 to £77,500 depending on experience plus our excellent flexible benefits package.
We offer hybrid working - for this role ideally we are looking for an average of 2 days per week per month on site.
