POSITION SUMMARY
The Head of Consumer Products will define and lead the global merchandise, licensing, retail and e-commerce strategy for both clubs. This leader will transform consumer products into an engine for brand growth, revenue generation, and fan connection—building innovative, premium, and accessible products that reflect the identity of Sounders and Reign while engaging diverse fan communities worldwide.
With strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of market trends, the Head will guide product strategy and execution across retail and digital channels, ensuring alignment with club values, events, and milestones. This role will combine operational excellence with creativity—leveraging data, partnerships, and fresh ideas to engage fans, elevate the matchday experience, and keep Sounders and Reign at the forefront of sports culture.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Product Development
- Lead the development and execution of merchandise, licensing, and e-commerce strategies for both clubs.
- Create product lines that reflect brand values, engage diverse fan bases, and maximize sales opportunities around events, seasons, and milestones.
- Oversee jersey design input, product extensions, and collaborations with artists, influencers, and cultural partners.
- Ensure offerings align with sustainability, inclusion, and community impact initiatives.
Retail & E-Commerce Operations
- Oversee retail programs, e-commerce platforms, and in-venue sales, ensuring strong execution and excellent fan experience.
- Partner with internal teams on marketing and promotions to drive traffic and conversion.
- Use fan insights and sales data to optimize assortments, pricing, and promotions.
Revenue & Financial Management
- Manage consumer products budget, including forecasting, sales reporting, and expense management.
- Achieve annual sales and revenue targets in support of the clubs’ long-term growth objectives.
Partnerships & Licensing
- Negotiate and manage relationships with licensees, league partners, vendors, and e-commerce platforms.
- Ensure product quality, brand consistency, and compliance with league and trademark standards.
- Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with third-party collaborators, artists, and other key partners.
- Explore new opportunities for co-branding, limited-edition drops, and digital extensions.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead and develop a high performing team focused on product development, licensing, retail, and e-commerce.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate consumer products into broader organizational initiatives.
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in consumer products, retail, merchandising, or licensing, ideally within sports, entertainment, or lifestyle brands.
- Strategic and operational leader with demonstrated success in building and executing product, merchandizing, licensing and e-commerce strategies.
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and sales performance analysis.
- Exceptional leader with experience building, coaching, and motivating high-performing, collaborative teams.
- Proven ability to manage strong vendor, licensee, and retail partner relationships.
- Data- and technology-savvy, with the ability to leverage analytics, digital tools, and AI-driven personalization to optimize product performance and enhance fan engagement.
- Innovative and creative thinker who identifies emerging trends and introduces new ideas that strengthen brand impact and revenue potential.
- Outstanding communicator with the ability to set context, align stakeholders, and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regular in-person presence required at the club’s Renton training facility and Lumen Field, with attendance at home matches and key events as part of the role.
- Employee must reside within Washington state upon hire date.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for matches and events.
- Must be able to facilitate own local travel.
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Responsibilities may require standing on feet for long periods of time, as well as lifting up to 20 pounds.

The annual salary range for this position is $125,000 - $175,000. This position is also eligible for bonus opportunity. Base pay at time of offer will take into account job-related knowledge, skills and experience required for the role, internal equity and market.
