ABOUT THIS ROLE 

Assist with the definition, creation, and maintenance of the enterprise data model within computing environments (e.g., Oracle, MSSQL, etc).  Analyzes, tests, and implements physical database design supporting various business applications.  Provides a high degree of coordination between user, technical, and applications to ensure effective data management.  Above all, ensures solutions meet business objectives and establishes and maintains a high level of user trust and confidence in the Business Intelligence (BI) group’s knowledge of and concern for users’ business needs.  Has a willingness to work with customers on varying levels of technical expertise in a high pressure, complex environment.

 RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Perform logical database design in response to requirements for information.
  • Develop utilities for monitoring and evaluating data quality.
  • Closely monitor performance; identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Automate procedures at regular intervals to maximize productivity and improve performance.
  • Assist with development of rules, procedures, and standards for the access and maintenance of shared data resources.
  • Assist other analysts or system users as needed.
  • Assist/Field with end user support requests related to data delivery systems.
  • Document all databases, queries, reports, etc.
  • Produce special reports for auditors as needed.
  • Reorganize database structures as needed.
  • Review overall physical database structures for data integrity, performance quality, recoverability, maintenance, and space requirement considerations.
  • Assist in monitoring the direction and growth of business to ensure the application of appropriate DB technologies and support resources through capacity planning and reporting.
  • Contact vendor support when necessary
  • Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of DBA tools and new DBMS technologies.
  • Resolve problems and answer questions related to the database/reports; facilitate application development and client problem resolution with optimum speed and efficiency.

REQURIMENTS

  • 5+ years of in-depth experience in the design, administration, programming, and support of RDBMSs/MDDBMSs (e.g., Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL) in one or more computing environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experienc
  • Demonstrated experience working well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in high-pressure situations and complex environments.
  • Experience working with core banking systems in a financial institution is a plus.
  • Experience in the design of data extract, migration, and queuing facilities.
  • Proficiency in the concepts and practice of database normalization techniques.
  • Strong working knowledge of database concepts/design/deployment, recovery techniques, performance monitoring and tuning, Structured Query Language, relational database and design techniques.
  • Proficiency in several RDBMS-specific tools and utilities to efficiently support day-to-day operational activities is a must.
  • Full knowledge of SQL, including programming and ways to optimize SQL code.
COMPENSATION
  • $95,000.00 - $115,000.00/ year
