Job Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/ Business Manager is critical in ensuring the financial health, a dynamic workforce, and operational efficiency of Incarnate Word High School. This position oversees all financial operations, manages the physical plant, serves as the liaison for human capital management with our third-party administrator (ADP, and supports the school's mission while upholding its Catholic values.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to ensure the school’s financial sustainability.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget, financial forecasts, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial audits.
  • Work with the school's leadership to prioritize resource allocation and maintain fiscal accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.

Investment and Financial Planning:

  • Provide financial analysis and support for long-term strategic planning.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, investments, and financial reserves.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors on financial issues and strategies.

Physical Plant Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of the school’s facilities, including safety, security, and environmental compliance.
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance plan for all physical plant assets.
  • Manage construction, renovation, and improvement projects as needed, ensuring adherence to budget and timelines.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of school facilities for school programs and events.

Human Resources Management:

  • Maintain a strong relationship with our third-party administrator for human resources management (ADP).
  • Ensure the school complies with all relevant workplace policies and procedures.


Team Leadership and Communication:

  • Supervise business office staff and facilities management personnel.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging professional development for team members.
  • Act as a liaison between faculty and staff and ADP regarding workforce issues, including, but not limited to, payroll, employee benefits, leave, and employment concerns.   
  • Act as a liaison between faculty, staff, and external vendors regarding financial and facility matters.

Mission Alignment:

  • Support and promote the Catholic identity and mission of the school through all financial and operational decisions.
  • Engage with parents, staff, and the community to enhance school culture and involvement.

Requirements

  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within an educational or non-profit setting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial management practices.
  • Strong knowledge of human resources management.
  • Proven experience in facilities management and project oversight.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Commitment to the Catholic mission of the school and understanding of Catholic education.
