Catering Coordinator


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Catering Coordinator to join our hospitality team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to collaborate closely with clients to ensure the seamless planning and execution of meetings and events at our hotel. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to manage multiple details efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

- Articulate and negotiate all details related to scheduled meetings and events, including event specifications and payment arrangements.

- Collaborate closely with clients to determine menu options, event setup, and room arrangements.

- Coordinate with hotel departments to ensure all event requirements are met, including sleeping rooms and additional upsell opportunities.

- Manage event timelines and ensure all logistical details are executed smoothly.

- Maintain clear communication with clients throughout the planning process, providing updates and addressing any concerns.

- Assist in upselling additional services and amenities to enhance the client experience and revenue.


Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience in event planning, catering, or hospitality coordination.

- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

- Ability to work effectively with clients and hotel staff to deliver exceptional service.

- Knowledge of food and beverage operations and event setup requirements.

- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

- Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and hotel schedules.

Requirements


Education & Experience:

  •  College coursework in a related field is helpful. 
  •  Experience in a hotel or a related field is preferred. 
  •  High School diploma or equivalent required. 
  •  Must be proficient with Windows operating systems  


Physical requirements:

  •  Long hours are sometimes required 
  •  Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push,
    pull or otherwise move objects.  

Mental requirements:

  •  Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly 
  •  Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately 
  •  Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations 
  •  Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure 
  •  Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as
    necessary • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to
    meet the constraints of the particular need 
  •  Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying, and resolving the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests 
  •  Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
