Primary Function
Responsible for performing a wide variety of clerical and receptionist duties, including working with various computer systems.
Receives and screens telephone calls and visitors.
Records and relays messages to appropriate personnel.
Provides administrative information to facility personnel and performs miscellaneous support functions as assigned.
Projects the facility’s professional image.
Qualifications
Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Education Preferred: Associate's Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in business.
Good judgment skills to answer, screen, and direct telephone calls. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with co-workers and fellow employees of other departments.
Strong organizational skills. Must enjoy working with the elderly. Working knowledge of office equipment and self-motivated.
Experience Preferred: 1 year switchboard with multiple lines, experience working with the elderly and the public.
Must have strong typing abilities, excellent phone skills, good communication and public relations skills, as well as being well-organized and attentive to detail.
Willing to cooperate with and assist others.
Able to use a computer, printer, phones, and basic business equipment.
Physical/Environmental Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, squat, stoop and kneel for different lengths of time. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds for various time spans. Must be able to push/pull a minimum of 25 pounds. Must be able to work an environment with changing temperatures.
Additional Responsibilities
Receives visitors and serves as the central focus of communication for the facility.
Routes calls to appropriate personnel in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
Maintains effective use of the page system to make daily announcements to residents and others as necessary.
Completes status sheet for residents leaving the facility and distributes to appropriate departments on a timely basis.
Maintains awareness of and the locations of the manual for the procedure to follow in an emergency situation.
Maintains and promotes quality resident care through cooperation with other staff and the interdisciplinary team.
Works with other team members, helping to cover breaks and assisting when needed.
Completes assignments and special projects as assigned in a timely manner.
Demonstrates flexibility when staffing assignment changes.
