Navigator Credit Union is currently recruiting for a full time Senior Financial Service Officer. We have positions available in Navigator’s MS region. During the interview process a specific location cannot be promised due to business and organizational needs at the time of any potential offer. In this region, we have branches in Gulfport, D’iberville, Ocean Springs, Gautier, Jackson Ave, Hurley, Vancleave and Moss Point. Although a home branch will be assigned, branch employees may be asked to cover at other branches within that region. Role
Responsible for assisting the Regional Branch Manager and Branch Manager in the overall management and growth of the branch locations. Will coach, develop, train, and meet regularly with teams. Individual will be responsible for supporting efforts to maximize production, sales, new memberships, customer satisfaction, and minimize operational losses as well as deepening existing relationships with members. Contributes to the implementation of promotional campaigns and product initiatives at the branch level.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors performance and makes coaching recommendations to develop staff.. Works with branch personnel to improve cross selling and balancing skills and to provide updates on policy and procedure changes.
- Responsible for building relationships in the Community and positively representing Navigator Credit Union.
- Must be knowledgeable on providing tips/resources on building credit scores, budgeting and helping members set up financial goals. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff, including approval of corrections and overrides, compliance with company policies and procedures and completion of all daily posting and reconciliations.
- Responsible for ensuring exceptional member experience levels. Investigates and resolves member complaints, and researches member situations to resolve issues involving fees, loan servicing, etc.
- Balances operational controls in order to minimize risk to the company. Performs surprise cash audits, including ATM audits.
- Assists in training, directing and monitoring attendance and performance
- May perform the duties of other branch staff as needed. Responsible for performing branch admin duties, such as scheduling, lobby choreography, etc.
- Works on special projects and performs other duties as instructed or assigned by the Regional Branch Manager.
- May assist covering other branches in region as needed.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience
1+ years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience
Education/Certifications/Licenses
High School or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
Interpersonal Skills
A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.

Physical Requirements
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of travel by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise.
