We work collaboratively with the Victorian State Government to ensure we fulfill regulatory requirements, deliver State projects and safeguard customer data. The Victorian State Government retains sole responsibility for road access, infrastructure and safety.

About the opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting strong governance and strategic direction at VicRoads. As the Board Secretariat, you will work closely with the Company Secretary to ensure the effective operation of the VicRoads Board and its Committees. You’ll contribute to maintaining high standards of corporate compliance and reporting, while also delivering professional secretariat and executive support across senior leadership. Your role will be integral to ensuring governance processes run smoothly, including the coordination of Board meetings, agendas, minutes, and regulatory obligations.

In addition, you will support the implementation and reporting of VicRoads’ Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Strategy, helping to ensure transparency and accountability in sustainability and ethical practices. This position offers a unique chance to contribute to a high-performing organisation that values integrity, efficiency, and community outcomes.

About you

In this role, you will provide essential governance and secretariat support to ensure the smooth functioning of the VicRoads Board and Committees. Working closely with the Company Secretary, you’ll assist with board coordination, compliance monitoring, and ESG reporting, while supporting continuous improvement in governance practices.

This position requires strong organisational skills, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-trust environment.

  • Experience as an assistant Company Secretary, Board Secretary, or similar profession.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, shell minutes, and board materials
  • Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and legal obligations
  • Support collation and quality control of board papers
  • Maintain statutory registers and coordinate ASIC notifications
  • Assist with ESG reporting and compliance
  • Manage the governance calendar and committee workplans
  • Build strong relationships with Board members and internal stakeholders
