MISSION

To work as a member of the Engineering team to assist all departments in producing a smooth, efficient flow of quality work through the company, taking responsibility for development projects and the products that they create. This position requires someone with a proven track record for completing projects on time and on budget with little to no supervision, demonstrating good leadership skills, and working well with other departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Project Management:

  • Creates project feasibilities, to include project timelines and requirements documents
  • Oversees the writing of the project functional specification and manufacturing test requirements
  • Oversees design tasking and milestones (hardware, software, mechanical & system)
  • May participate in product design that aligns with engineering discipline from experience and/or education (especially for technical variant)
  • Reviews and approves the project test plans and reports (hardware, software, mechanical & system)
  • Manages project schedule and updates accordingly
  • Manages project budget and monitors variances
  • Reports on projects to Engineering Manager
  • Ability to provide battery quotes

 

Documentation

  • Manages all project documentation to completion, possibly writing such documentation if appropriate given experience and education
  • Maintains documentation as required per Engineering Change Notices
  • Maintains time records and project reports

 

Manufacturing

  • Oversees the making of all prototype parts and assemblies
  • Assists in the production startup of products, collaborating with other departments for completing prototypes and Projects

 

Collaboration

  • Primary liaison to customer through product development lifecycle
  • Assists in other areas when requested

 

Legal Compliance:

  • Ensure legal compliance with state, federal, and OSHA requirements
  • Ensure ISO procedures are followed
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

 

Personal Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an engineering-related discipline
  • PMP certification preferred

 

Job Technical skills

  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience in the electronics industry is required
  • Experience with automotive electronics or EV/Battery manufacturing is preferred
  • Cursory experience with mechanical design and manufacturing principles and acceptable practices is required
  • Cursory experience in software development principles and acceptable practices is preferred
