DESCRIPTION:
The maintenance technician is representative for the upkeep and repair of a facility’s mechanical and production equipment. This role requires a versatile skill set to handle various maintenance tasks, ensuring the facility remain safe, functional and efficient.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Troubleshoot and be proficient in the repair mechanical, electrical, pumps, and plumbing
 - Handles more complex tasks, including advanced trouble shooting, repairs and project assistance
 - Prioritize and perform service request in a timely manner
 - Conduct electrical measurements, diagnose and troubleshoot all electrical issues
 - Perform regular inspections of all production equipment
 - Keep records of maintenance activities, including schematics and logs
 - Interact with a wide range of people and be personable and trustworthy
 - Basic working knowledge of electricity, plumbing, hydraulics and refurbishing equipment
 - Service production equipment, plumbing, electrical, hydraulic systems, etc
 - Conduct regular inspections of building, equipment, and systems to identify and address any issues
 - Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and extend the life span of equipment
 - Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards to prevent accidents and injuries
 - Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to resolve issues that could disrupt operations
 - Work closely with other maintenance staff and department to ensure smooth operations
 - Assisting with all maintenance projects
 - Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices
 - Perform additional related duties as assigned
 
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma, GED equivalent
 - A minimum of 3 years Maintenance experience
 - Relevant certification or degree in the maintenance field
 - Basic reading, writing, and math
 - Basic working knowledge of electricity, plumbing, hydraulics and refurbishing
 - Self-directed, well organized, and motivated
 - High attention to detail
 - Computer proficiency (Excel, Word)
 - Must be reliable and have excellent attendance
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:
- Standing for extended periods of time, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, or bending to the floor; use hands to finger, handle or feel parts and materials; reach with hands and arms and overhead; and talk and/or hear instructions and equipment sounds
 - Occasionally life and/or move up to 40 pounds
 - Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
 - Ability to differentiate shades and color to identify coating defects
 - Near acuity or accommodation required for reading instrumentation and documentation, dial and digital gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of coating operations
 - Ability to handle delicate parts
 
WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:
- Regularly exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts, ovens, and risk of burns
 - Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock
 - High noise levels from operating machines
 - The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials commonly used in a manufacturing environment (i.e., safety glasses and shoes, gloves, ear plugs/covers, mask, cleanroom suit)
 - High noise levels while working near operating machines
 - Physical hazards while working near moving equipment and mechanical parts
 - Possible breathing of fumes, odors, dust, and mist
