In this role, you'll:
You’ll be at the heart of shaping the future of housing and infrastructure around Sydney Metro lines.
Your work will directly contribute to safe and sustainable development around Sydney Metro infrastructure. You’ll support long-term transport planning, protect public assets, and build strong relationships with councils, developers, and government agencies.
Ultimately, you’ll help shape the future of Sydney’s housing and infrastructure—ensuring it grows in harmony with one of Australia’s most important transport systems.
Your work will ensure that developments near the railway are safe, sustainable, and aligned with long-term transport planning. Overseeing small projects, you’ll engage with engineers, developers, planners, and government stakeholders to coordinate assessment of development applications, issue approvals, and monitor compliance.
You’ll help manage the delicate balance between rapid urban growth and infrastructure protection. Whether it’s reviewing construction plans, advising on underground services, or coordinating with internal and external teams, your role will be key to maintaining the integrity of Sydney’s metro network while enabling smart development.
This is a fixed term opportunity until 30/6/2026.

About you
You’re a pragmatic planner with a background in urban planning, infrastructure, or public transport. You know how to interpret construction drawings, understand underground services, and navigate NSW’s planning systems. You’re comfortable working with technical experts and external stakeholders, and you can balance competing priorities to make sound decisions.
You’re detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to protecting public infrastructure. Whether you’ve worked in government, development, or transport, you bring a clear understanding of planning processes and a passion for shaping how Sydney grows around its metro network.
