Senior Director, Sales & Distribution for Wise Foods

 

Location: This role is based in Northeast/Mid-Atlantic region, with a preference for candidates in Philadelphia or New Jersey. 

Wise Snacks is seeking a Sales & Distribution Senior Director to lead, organize, and develop the sales organization in alignment with the company's growth and profitability objectives. This role is critical to delivering sustainable sales, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring seamless integration with other functional areas such as Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain. The Sales & Distribution Senior Director is responsible for driving profitable and sustainable sales growth through the development and execution of robust sales and distribution strategies. This leader will align sales goals with company objectives, oversee distribution operations, and maintain strong partnerships with customers and distributors to achieve sales and EBITDA targets.

 

Areas of Responsibility

  1. Strategic Planning and Budget Alignment
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and deliver the company's annual sales, profit, and EBITDA goals.
  • Establish clear sales targets for each sales group based on business opportunities.
  • Partner with Operations and Marketing to align sales objectives with production capacity and new product initiatives.

 

  1. Sales Execution and Performance Management
  • Lead account teams in developing and executing comprehensive sales plans to ensure profitability and goal achievement.
  • Utilize tools such as T-Pro to evaluate account performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide corrective actions as needed.

 

  1. Sales Operations and Distribution Support
  • Work closely with regional directors to determine optimal distribution methods based on volume and market potential.
  • Regularly evaluate branch and distributor performance to ensure effective execution and profitability.

 

  1. Customer and Distributor Relationship Management
  • Maintain strong relationships with key accounts and distribution partners through regular engagement and strategic collaboration.
  • Participate in scheduled HQ meetings and account reviews to identify new business opportunities and address challenges.

 

  1. Team Leadership and Development
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing sales and operations team to exceed business objectives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.

 

  1. Distribution Strategy and Execution
  • Oversee the distribution network to ensure timely, cost-effective product delivery.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Operations to optimize routing, fleet utilization, and inventory allocation.
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement ongoing process improvements.

 

  1. Logistics Efficiency and Compliance
  • Develop contingency and business continuity plans to mitigate logistics disruptions.
  • Ensure full compliance with transportation, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with third-party logistics providers to support business growth.

 

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Sales, Distribution, or Commercial Leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of delivering profitable growth and managing large-scale distribution networks.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to travel regularly to company branches, distribution partners, and customer sites.
  • Standard office and manufacturing environment exposure.
