Cafeteria employees enable Church employees and temple patrons to focus on their most important work of bringing souls unto Jesus Christ by providing food services in a simple and affordable way.

 

Under direction of supervisor, serves food at cafeteria line or at tables. Maintains clean work areas. Cleans and puts away dishes. May assist in some food preparation as needed.

Responsibilities

Note: Specific work performed may vary considerably among incumbents in this position. (0-100% of time could be spent in one or more of the following duties). This role is expected to only work with one to two tasks.

  • Serves food in cafeteria line
  • Run dishwasher
  • Clean, maintain, and sanitize equipment and food preparation areas
  • Restock serving area(s)
  • Deliver orders
  • Setting out food
  • Waste control, rotate FIFO
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Intermediate competency in reading, writing, and mathematics required. 
  • Food service experience preferred. 
  • Must be able to obtain food handler permit where required. 
  • Good communication skills in English (or language of country where position resides) and courtesy when dealing with others. 
  • Must be able to lift/move/maneuver objects weighing up to 40 lbs, work while standing for entire shift, make repetitive movements, and work in a fast-paced environment.
