Church of the Resurrection and Resurrection Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and dependable individual for a Full-Time Maintenance & Janitorial Director. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment across parish and school facilities, including the church, school, rectory, and parish grounds.
Candidates with experience in basic maintenance, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and the use of power tools are especially encouraged to apply.

Primary Responsibilities
The Maintenance and Janitorial Director ensures the church and school facilities are well-maintained and operational, contributing to the comfort and safety of our parishioners, students, staff, and guests.
Key Duties
Clean and maintain all parish and school buildings, rooms, offices, and restrooms.
Perform small maintenance tasks:
Replace light bulbs and fixtures
Change water filters
Minor plumbing repairs
Carpentry and mechanical tasks
General upkeep of HVAC and electrical systems
Small maintenance repairs and projects
Maintain outdoor grounds:
Works with the Snow Removal Ministry to provide snow and ice removal from walkways and parking lot
Works alongside the Grounds and Mowing Ministries to ensure a professional and clean parish and school campus
Playground inspection and cleaning
Set up and reset rooms for events:
Works with the Tables & Chairs Ministry to arrange tables and chairs for school and parish events, including funerals, luncheons, meetings, etc.
Maintain cleanliness of cafeteria and Stewardship Hall after student lunches, sporting events, and special parish functions
Maintain supply inventory and assist with ordering materials as needed
Has the capacity to be a “handyman” and can complete projects given by the pastor and/or principal
Collaborate with the Facilities Committee for larger maintenance or repair projects
Ensure facilities are ready for daily use for both the school and parish
Attends all Facilities Committee meetings and helps to coordinate Parish Work Days
Meets weekly with the pastor and principal
Seeks out quotes and bids for major parish and school projects and provides a recommendation to the pastor and/or Facilities Committee
Works with parish and school vendors and contractors such as Five Star (HVAC), McDaniels, etc. to schedule walk throughs, PMs, repairs, etc.
Manages any parish and/or school janitors
Performs other duties as assigned by the pastor and/or principal
Physical Demands
Frequent walking, standing, and climbing
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
Comfortable working at heights (up to 20 ft on ladders)
Use of hand and power tools, lawn equipment, snow removal equipment, etc.
Working Environment
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperature extremes
Some evening, weekend, holiday, or Holy Day work may be required based off or parish and/or school needs
Flexibility in schedule
Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Vocational or trade training preferred
Must complete and maintain Virtus (Safe Environment) certification
Experience:
Prior experience in janitorial work, groundskeeping, or facility maintenance is preferred
Hands-on experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical repair is preferred
Familiarity with commercial HVAC and plumbing systems is a plus
Skills:
Basic computer knowledge (Google Docs, Sheets, etc. and email)
Ability to communicate and work well with the pastor and principal, parish and school staff, parishioners, and school community
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters professionally
On-call availability for emergencies or urgent repairs
Work Schedule
40 hours per week (exact schedule to be set upon hiring)
Occasional overtime, weekend, or holiday work that is approved by the pastor
Flexible hours may be approved by the pastor
