Mobile Service Technician – J.C. Lewis Motor Co.

Position Overview:
J.C. Lewis Motor Co. is looking for a skilled Mobile Service Technician who wants to bring their expertise directly to customers at their home or workplace. This is a scheduled, route-based role — no on-call stress — giving you the freedom to work efficiently while providing top-notch service.
You’ll handle routine maintenance, diagnostics, brake repairs, pre- and post-collision scans, and other mechanical and electrical work. This role is perfect for a technician who enjoys independence, takes pride in quality work, and values providing a convenient experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to customer locations using a fully equipped mobile service van. 
- Perform maintenance, mechanical, and electrical repairs on a variety of vehicles. 
- Conduct pre- and post-collision scans and calibrations. 
- Provide brake repairs, replacements, welding, and diesel engine maintenance. 
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues. 
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections. 
- Document work performed and recommended services using company software. 
- Maintain and operate tools, equipment, and company-issued service vehicle safely. 
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and other team members. 
- Supervise apprentice technicians, report equipment defects, and maintain manuals/tools. 
- Ensure compliance with environmental policies, safety standards, and manufacturer guidelines. 
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record 
- Master technician skills with the ability to work independently 
- Strong mechanical and automotive competencies; electrical knowledge preferred 
- Professional attitude, excellent customer service skills, and ability to maintain a clean, organized workspace 
- ASE and I-CAR certifications desired but not required 
- Computer skills preferred 
Physical Demands:
- Perform maintenance, diagnostic, and repair tasks on vehicles and diesel engines 
- Conduct brake repairs and replacements 
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks 
- Road-test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions 
- Lift and move heavy parts and equipment 
Work Environment:
This is a scheduled, mobile role — you’ll work from a fully equipped van at customer locations, bringing dealership-level service directly to their door.
