Cooper Auto Group is accepting applications for an experience transmission specialist at our state of the art 36,000 sqft Reconditioning Center.

The reconditioning center supports Cooper Auto Group retail dealerships by providing all necessary maintenance/repairs prior to market. This is a high volume operation and a tremendous opportunity to gain valuable experience in an industry that is in high demand.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses transmission related issued using appropriate diagnostic tools and test drives. 
  • Remove, disassemble, inspect, and repair or rebuild transmissions and related components.
  • Install new or rebuilt transmissions and ensure proper operation and performance.
  • Document all work performed accurately on repair orders in compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
  • Communicate findings and recommended repairs clearly with the internal service advisor and/or Reconditioning Center manager.
  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs
  • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
  • Helps maintain shop appearance and safety standards and ensures the shop runs in an efficient manner by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functions
  • Follows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules
  • Attends all staff meetings, training, and educational classes as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary automotive training or equivalent work experience preferred
  • One year of dealer-level or large facility experience with an emphasis on transmission preferred
  • Broad scope of automotive mechanical/electrical knowledge
  • Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with teammates and staff
  • Highly professional and dependable
  • Safety and customer service oriented
  • Basic computer and internet skills
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
