Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides consultative services and technical assistance to plan, implement, and monitor standards.
Conducts surveys, inspections and reviews to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Recommends and coordinates activities to produce a more effective program.
Assists in the development and implementation of effective techniques for evaluating, studies and analysis of operations and problems.
Prepares reports of findings and recommendations; and prepares justifications for and assists in implementing procedural or policy changes.
Participates in program planning, development, and implementation.
Assists in planning and developing educational programs.
Prepares and assists in the preparation of administrative reports, studies, and specialized research projects.
Provides training and technical assistance on program operations and services.
Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
Criminal justice experience preferred.
Experience in correctional unit operations preferred.
LaSalle Corrections requires verification of Post-Hire Qualifications and Training Requirements of completing annual in-service training and passing an annual background check both of which must be approved.
Required Knowledge Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and statutes.
Knowledge of correctional facility operations.
Knowledge of correctional methods, techniques, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations preferred.
Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, organizations, and the public.
Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Skill to review technical data and prepare technical reports.
Skill to plan, organize, and assign the work of others.
Skill to develop instructional materials and conduct training.
Skill in the use of computers and related equipment in a stand-alone or local area network.
