About the Department
Position Duties
- Plans, assigns, reviews, and coordinates work and work schedules; makes recommendations
regarding hiring, performance, discipline, and promotion of subordinates, and standard operating
guidelines. - Provides knowledge and expertise within a functional area that may require interaction with other City
departments and collaboration with other entities - Gathers, calculates, and delivers daily cash deposits to the bank; verifies credit card transaction
reports, marina parking permits, and other payments received. - Gathers, evaluates, and analyzes data relating to operations, practices, techniques and areas of
critical concern to a functional area or to the department as a whole. - Maintains records and prepares reports; monitors budgeted expenditures, supervises the requisition
of related supplies, and prepares monthly and quarterly reports on section's accomplishments. - Responds to customer complaints and inquiries; identifies issues and initiates corrective actions as
necessary. - Supervises, oversees, monitors, and facilitates Security Operations at the Downtown Harbor Marina and public docking areas through personnel supervision, work management, coordinating work schedules, and overseeing all security operations.
- Leads and supervises special projects regarding Security Operations.
- Handles customer service, security equipment, employee development, security logbooks, and vessel
and aircraft security. - Ensures Security Logbooks are filled out correctly each evening and locks the logbook to preserve
documentation. - Administers, supervises, and monitors quality and quantity of work performed by subordinates.
- Reports hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions to the Parking Division Manager
- Performs related tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment:
A valid State driver’s license is required.
Obtain training and certification with the City’s Pay Station vendor within one year of hire date.
Employees selected for this position must meet FDLE guidelines in order to access sensitive and/or confidential information. Applicants with arrest histories for felonies or serious misdemeanors may be denied access to this information and as such, will not meet the minimum qualifications for a position with the City of Clearwater.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate AND four (4) years of experience with security operations or parking services and some supervisory experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
