The Administrative Specialist in a hospice setting plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of healthcare services dedicated to end-of-life care. This position is responsible for managing a variety of administrative tasks that support clinical staff, patients, and families, facilitating compassionate and timely care delivery. The role requires meticulous attention to detail in handling patient records, scheduling, and communication with multidisciplinary teams to maintain compliance with healthcare regulations. The Administrative Specialist acts as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring that all administrative processes contribute to a supportive and respectful hospice environment. Job Summary
The primary function of the AS is to provide clerical and administrative support to the home office. Serves as the first point-of-contact for the office, employees, referral sources, patients, and caregivers.
Job Qualifications
Education: High School Graduate (College Preferred).
Experience: One-year general office experience preferred.
Skills: Computer skills preferred, excellent interpersonal and organizational skill. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Transportation: Reliable transportation and valid and current auto liability insurance.
Environmental / Working Conditions: Performs duties in an office environment during Agency operating hours. Works in a routine office environment; noise level may be moderately high; must have the ability to work a flexible schedule and extended hours. Possible exposure to toxic materials, toner, etc.
