As an Instrumentation and Wells Specialist Lead, you'll play a vital role in supporting our Wells Department and Instrumentation & Control team. In this hands-on technical position, you'll be responsible for generating detailed reports, assisting in reviewing construction submittals, and conducting onsite inspections of Wells Department construction projects. Your expertise in electrical troubleshooting and industrial controls will help maintain the integrity and efficiency of our water infrastructure.
This role reports to the Wells Utility Supervisor and is perfect for someone who excels at exceeding customer needs by building relationships, contributes to team goals to produce quality results, and is committed to safety.
What You'll Do:
- Create regular reports based on department activity and chemical usage
- Inspect completed field work to ensure completion and accuracy
- Review construction submittals to ensure that local, state, and federal standards are met
- Create wiring diagrams for controlling various well and booster pump functions
- Develop and modify PLC computer programs for proper operation function of well sites

Position Duties
At Team Gilbert, we hire innovative, forward-thinking problem-solvers who love what they do! In addition to possessing the ability to live out our core and functional values daily, candidates must possess the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate's Degree (A.S., A.A.) or two-year technical certificate in electricity/electronics ENG, industrial controls theory and application and 4 years of experience in basic to advanced electrical troubleshooting and repair
- 6 years of experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting, and VFD installation, trouble shooting and repair
- Grade I Water Distribution and Grade I Water Treatment ADEQ Certifications required at the time of hire or promotion
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
- 6 Years of experience in basic to advanced electrical troubleshooting and repair may be considered in lieu of an Associate's Degree
- Valid AZ Driver's License
- Must obtain a Grade II Water Distribution and Grade II in Water Treatment (ADEQ) within one year of hire
Physical Demands and Working Conditions for this position include: This role involves working in various environments, including outdoor settings with varying weather conditions, as well as exposure to various environmental hazards, including fumes, odors, dusts, chemicals, etc. Physical demands include regular lifting (occasionally up to 50lbs and frequently up to 20lbs). The role primarily works four (4) ten-hour days and may be subject to on-call availability.
