We’re on a mission to make affordable loans available to more people. Using the power of Open Banking, we have built state-of-the-art technology that allows us to look beyond traditional credit scores and offer fairer credit to people ignored by traditional lenders.

We have two parts of our business. On the consumer side, we have Abound. Abound has proven that our approach works at scale, with over £800 million lent to-date. While other lenders only look at your credit score, we use Open Banking to look at the full picture – what you earn, how you spend, and what’s left at the end.

On the B2B side, we have Render. Render is our award-winning software-as-a-service platform that allows Abound to make better, less risky lending decisions. And less risky decisions mean we can offer customers better rates than they can usually find elsewhere. We’re taking Render global so that more companies, from high-street banks to other fintechs, can offer affordable credit to their customers.

Role: Product Manager (New Channels)

About the role

New Channels team helps our partners embed Abound’s credit scoring and consumer lending technology into their customer journeys. We have already delivered solutions like SaaS credit scoring, white-label credit cards and ecommerce Buy Now Pay Later with our partners. We are now looking to make affordable credit available to even more people.

As a Product Manager, you will work with our partners and colleagues across Abound to launch new products and make them successful post-launch. This is a high-impact, multi-faceted and fast-paced role that puts you at the heart of New Channels.

You will need to quickly develop both breadth and depth of knowledge of consumer lending market, credit decisioning process and Abound technology stack. You will need to be comfortable with challenges as diverse as supporting Sales efforts, working with Legal & Compliance on B2B and B2C contracts, designing and testing APIs and working with data scientists to optimise journey conversion and financial performance.

What you’ll be doing

New partner onboarding

  • Lead product discovery by understanding partners’ product, technical and commercial requirements

  • Manage implementation delivery across internal and external engineering, commercial, legal & compliance and operations teams

  • Plan and manage testing and issue resolution

Product success and client relationship management

  • Help drive client growth and use of the platform and boost our overall origination volumes

  • Proactively identify and deliver solutions to boost product’s commercial and technical performance

  • Troubleshoot issues, triage and oversee resolution

Product development

  • Develop the product roadmap taking into account market developments, partners’ feedback and internal requirements

  • Work with engineering to define, prioritise and build new features

Who you are

  • 2-4 years of experience in fast-paced, high-challenge environment, e.g. start-ups, management consulting, banking

  • Experience delivering projects end to end, including with external clients or partners

  • Proven ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly

  • Technical aptitude to understand business processes, API integrations and data workflows, perform data analytics

  • Preferred: understanding of UK financial services commercial and regulatory landscape
