Prime Focus Technologies (PFT) is the creator of Media Asset Management software, CLEAR™  and provides media operations services for the Media & Entertainment industry. Globally, PFT works with clients including Channel 4, ITV, Warner Brothers Discovery, Hearst UK, CBS Films, Tata Play, Star Sports and many more. 
 
PFT operates a state-of-the-art Media Centre in Leeds to deliver services specifically for Channel 4, supporting their entire broadcast library across shows including hit reality series like First Dates and Married at First Sight, unique documentaries such as 24 Hours in Police Custody, hard-hitting dramas like The Handmaid’s Tale, award-winning shows like Taskmaster and Gogglebox as well as a range of live sports from international football and Paralympics to Formula 1. 
 
Media Operators at PFT view a range of media formats and are responsible for reviewing and judging technical compliance of the content against defined standards; reporting on audio and video quality as well as performing fixes and re-mastering (editing) of the content. To support the nature of our customer’s operation, this role requires shift work covering 24hrs a day, 7 days a week at our Leeds Media Operations Centre. 
 
Although not essential, the Media Operator role is well suited to someone who has a Media Degree with hands on experience working in Adobe Premier Pro, or a similar edit suite. The unique nature of this position means that while there are some essential skills to ensure success, PFT will offer full training to ensure the chosen candidate has all the relevant skills to perform the role to the highest level and is able to meet our high standards.
 
Role Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Review and process content accurately to meet deadlines according to agreed standards.
  • Ingest content from legacy video tape formats.
  • Accurately identify and quality check material for technical DPP compliance, identifying  defects and recommending solutions. (ie. PSE certification and audio level checks).
  • Accurately enter detailed technical and content information into systems.
  • Perform video/audio editing to fix faulty or failed media and create new versions of programmes if required.
  • Develop excellent relationships with colleagues at all levels, focusing on teamwork and  supporting others. Demonstrate excellent communication skills. 
  • Follow content and data security procedures and policies to ensure the confidentiality of our  customers’ content.
 
Required Skills & Experience
  • Expertise with Adobe Premiere or similar software.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • A highly organised individual, able to prioritise workload and manage own time effectively, even under pressure of tight deadlines. 
  • A natural relationship builder, able to work closely with clients and colleagues regardless of seniority and status.
 
Beneficial Skills & Experience
  • Knowledge of common video and audio defects.
  • Knowledge of post-production workflows for broadcast. 
 
Key Competencies & Professional Skills 
 
Due to the nature of the work we do, all team members are required to work on site at our office in Leeds. Channel 4 offers quality broadcast content 24 hours a day, 365 days per year and as such our service requires the same coverage. Crew work to shift patterns covering day, evening and nights including weekends and bank holidays.
