Elementary Teacher – Pinnacle Elementary School

Licensure Area: Elementary Education (K–5)
Reports To: Principal

Nature of Work

Under general supervision, plans, organizes, and delivers instruction that helps students develop the skills and knowledge necessary for success. The teacher fosters a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment where all students are supported academically, socially, and emotionally.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plans and implements engaging lessons aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.

• Provides differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.

• Integrates hands-on and inquiry-based learning, particularly in science, to encourage curiosity and critical thinking.

• Maintains effective classroom management consistent with school and district expectations.

• Collaborates with grade-level teammates, support staff, and families to promote student success.

• Uses formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and provide targeted interventions.

• Participates in professional development and school improvement initiatives.

• Performs other related duties as assigned by the principal or designee.

Minimum Training and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

• Valid North Carolina teaching license in Elementary Education (K–5) or eligibility for licensure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong background or emphasis in Science instruction.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated commitment to creating a student-centered, nurturing learning environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to plan and deliver instruction that meets diverse learning needs.

• Ability to integrate technology and hands-on learning experiences effectively.

• Skill in maintaining a positive classroom climate and managing student behavior.
